The Rock ‘N Roll 5K walk/run benefitting Positive Impact for Kids will be held Sunday, March 22, on the Furman campus beginning at 2 p.m. at Timmons Arena. Positive Impact for Kids is a 501(c)(3) founded by Leanne Joyce ’22 in 2011 at the age of 12. Her non-profit strives to improve the hospitalization experience for children and teenagers receiving inpatient medical care in the United States. Positive Impact for Kids has raised over $150,000 to provide age appropriate tools for pediatric patients to use to promote normalcy within an anxiety provoking environment.
Joyce is working with a team of six other students to plan this 5K. The funds raised will benefit local children’s hospitals, and the Rock ‘N Roll 5K will be held regardless of the weather conditions.
The first 100 people to sign up will receive a Furman swag bag. Registration is $25 and includes a T-shirt. To register visit this website.
