Reimagining Greenville: A Discussion with Mayor White

February 22, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Knox White, mayor of the City of Greenville since 1995, will speak on the Furman University campus Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. in Watkins Room of the Trone Student Center.

The talk, “Reimagining Greenville: A Discussion with Mayor Knox White,” is free and open to the public, and is sponsored by Furman’s Community Engagement Initiative as well as numerous Furman institutes and academic departments. The event is part of Furman’s Cultural Life Program.

Mayor White will discuss why Greenville’s downtown is widely recognized as one of the best in America, earning praise from sources including Chicago Tribune, Travel and Leisure, National Geographic, and “Oprah.” The achievement is a credit to the community that banded together to build something special from a once declining city center.
