In the first of its kind at Furman University, the Department of Art will present a student-curated exhibition in “We Must Cultivate Our Garden” Jan. 21-Feb. 21 in Thompson Gallery of the Roe Art Building on campus. Gallery hours are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
The exhibition is free and open to the public and includes the work of Douglas Piper (Greenville, South Carolina), Mary Mazziotti (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania), Millian Giang Lien Pham (University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa) and Suzanne Dittenber (University of North Carolina, Asheville).
Working with the art department’s Marta Lanier and faculty member Sarah Archino in an independent study, students prepared the call for artists and selected artists. The students curating the work are Furman seniors Beth Fraser, Olivia Corso and Libby Mackow.
