CLP: “Scaling Impact”

November 18, 2019 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Featuring Andy Kurtz (CEO and Founder, Kopis USA) and Meghan Slining (associate professor, health sciences and advisor to Sweet Tea Cancer Connections Start Up), Gary Davies (CEO CAPE Asset Management, pending)

Every year ideas are cultivated at academic institutions. We have the opportunity to scale these ideas and improve society. At this event, Furman students and local alumni will learn how scaling their ideas can create change in society. Students will learn from our faculty and alumni who have developed their ideas to have a greater impact on the community. Meghan Slining, health sciences professor and founder of Sweet Tea Cancer Connections, and Andy Kurtz, CEO and founder of Kopis, will join a 40-minute panel on how ideas are developed to be sustainable and impactful in the community. Mary Sturgill, media specialist and professor, will moderate and focus on how the liberal arts can fuel this innovation and turn it into a sustainable business.
