The Department of Politics & International Affairs and the Furman Humanities Center presents the incredible true story of Deng Majok Chol, one of the “Lost Boys of Sudan.” At age ten, Deng Chol was forced to leave his peaceful home in southern Sudan and trek more than a thousand miles through jungle and desert, along with thousands of other children, escaping a murderous regime. He grew up in refugee camps, finding faith, getting an education, and eventually coming to America, where he influenced the government to support independence for his homeland.
