WGSS, Academic Affairs, the university’s Libraries, and Michael Jennings (Chief Diversity Officer and professor of education) are sponsoring a reception and CLP program, “Making Room, Not Excuses: Women’s and LGBTQ+ History on Campus,” on Thursday, September 26 in Hartness Pavilion. The reception will begin at 5:30, the program at 6:00, with opportunities for informal conversation after the program. Dr. Marian Strobel and Dr. Scott Henderson will examine how the civil rights, women’s, and gay pride movements impacted higher education. Joining them to discuss how Furman responded to these movements will be Jane Chew, Judith Bainbridge and Chelsea Feustel ’09.
