The inaugural Charles Townes Art & Technology Experience will be a vibrant multimedia art installation designed to celebrate the spirit of invention and honor the legacy of Greenville native and Furman University graduate Charles Townes, winner of the 1964 Nobel Prize in Physics. This one-of-a-kind, interactive display of light and sound is a collaborative exhibit by prolific multimedia artists Jeff Sumerel and Goda Rupeikait?-Sumerel. The duo will highlight Townes’ achievements with the intent to inspire experimentation and curiosity in viewers of all ages.
This unique art experience will be held this Friday, October 11 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm on the football field at Gateway Park in Travelers Rest. The exhibit will loop to recur every five minutes. Attendance is free for all. Gateway Park is a short walk from Travelers Rest’s Main Street (near Sunrift Adventures) at 6 Center Street.
