Minor Mickel Shaw receives national award for higher education support

Civic leader and philanthropist Minor Mickel Shaw is this year’s recipient of the Council of Independent Colleges’ Charles W. L. Foreman Award in recognition of her stalwart support of South Carolina’s private colleges and universities. Chair of the Duke Endowment board, Shaw was nominated for the Foreman honor by the South Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities Inc.

The Foreman award is the CIC’s highest honor given annually for distinguished service to independent higher education. Shaw received the Riley Institute’s Excellence in Civic Leadership in 2010. Learn more in a news release posted on the SCICU website.
