Freshman runs first and last leg of relay, team sets a school record

Beth Donnelly '24 (center) is flanked by Emily Little '24 (left) and Kylie Wittman '24 (right).

Her performance won’t count for the record books, but Beth Donnelly, a freshman cross country athlete at Furman University, still won praise from her coach Rita Gary, and recognition in Canadian Running magazine. In the 4 x 1,500m relay at the Tennessee Relays, a Furman team member sustained an injury that kept her out of the race. So Donnelly ran the lead and anchor legs of the event with teammates Emily Little ’24 and Kylie Wittman ’24. The three won the race and set a school record.
