Advisers in the Malone Center for Career Engagement are online and ready to talk students through their options, including continuing education at Furman University.

Master of Arts in Strategic Design

The Master of Arts in Strategic Design is a specialized program that delivers the breadth of an M.B.A. program and the depth of an M.F.A. in design.

Students who want to elevate their professional options at the intersection of design, business and communications strategy are encouraged to apply for the MASD program. The portfolio school model replicates a creative professional environment allowing students to launch their creative career with hands-on, professional leadership experience, global industry connections and an exceptional portfolio and career placement.

Master of Arts in Teaching

Founded on the central principles of the liberal arts, Furman’s MAT is for those wanting to inspire the next generation through a career in secondary education (grades 9-12).

Scott Henderson, professor of education and director of Program Development and Evaluation, listens to education students during class.

A cross-disciplinary approach will enhance students’ critical thinking skills, teach them how to communicate effectively with other teachers and school administrators, and prepare them to lead in a specialized area where quality teachers are in high demand. Undergraduate majors that qualify for the program include history, politics and international affairs, biology, chemistry, physics, English, French and Spanish.

Master of Science in Community Engaged Medicine

For students pursuing a career in health, Furman’s MSCEM provides both an advanced understanding of science and population health through patient-based case studies and a nine-month clinical experience in underserved communities.
