Get ready for a new school year

The Furman cheerleaders man the front gate each year to welcome the freshmen to campus.

Furman University’s 2019-20 academic year will officially get underway Tuesday, Aug. 27 when students attend their first day of classes.

Approximately 660 first-year students will report to campus Friday, Aug. 23 while the rest of the university’s 2,700 undergraduate students will arrive on Sunday, Aug. 25.

Furman will hold its opening convocation Monday, Aug. 26 at 11 a.m. in McAlister Auditorium.

The fall term ends Dec. 18, while spring term begins Jan. 13 and ends Apr. 28.  Commencement will be held Saturday, May 9.  The May Experience term will run May 13-June 3.
