Greenville’s ‘signature university’
A statement was made recently in a Greenville News story about how the city needs to “attract a signature institution, such as a university, downtown to anchor the district and create a collaborative hub of ideas and business activity.” In an op-ed for the newspaper, Anthony Herrera, executive director of Furman’s Office for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, writes that Greenville doesn’t need to seek a signature university. It already has one in Furman University.
