With Brexit, AFL gets closer to its European customers

Will future cross-border regulations and taxes post-Brexit help or hurt U.S.-based companies like Upstate fiber optics manufacturer AFL, which has operations in Britain and customers on the continent? Will Brexit lead to lost business? Furman University Associate Professor of Economics Jason Jones offered his thoughts during a recent Upstate SC Alliance forum covered by Upstate Business Journal. “There’s actually opportunities that are opening up for the United States when trade deals fall,” said Jones.
