The Furman Task Force on Slavery and Justice has released a report that includes a history of Furman’s early ties to slavery and a number of recommendations for the university to consider. Furman Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost George Shields spoke to WYFF-TV on Tuesday about the report and how the university plans to proceed in considering its recommendations.
