Nominated for U.S. attorney
President Donald Trump has nominated Furman graduate Thomas Cullen ’00 to become U.S. attorney for the Western District of Virginia. U.S. Sens. Mark Warner and Tim Kaine of Virginia called Cullen experienced and capable, and said he will “make an excellent U.S. attorney” in a joint statement. Cullen is Roanoke-based attorney at Woods Rogers and a former federal prosecutor. He graduated from Furman in 2000 with a degree in history and received his law degree in 2004 from the College of William and Mary. Read more in The Roanoke Times.
