A final bus trip home

The lacrosse team traveled by bus to Memphis for the funeral of Jackson Roberts. For the players, it was a final bus trip with their former teammate.

Furman has been mourning the death of senior Jackson Roberts, who was killed in a motorcycle accident in Greenville Friday, Jan. 12. Jackson was a student coach with the Paladin lacrosse team, and his teammates have made a point of honoring him in every way possible. On Friday, Jan. 19, the team traveled to Memphis, Tenn., Jackson’s hometown, for the funeral. At the family’s request, they brought his cremated remains with them, making one last bus trip with their former teammate. The Commercial Appeal in Memphis published a story about Jackson Roberts and what he had meant to the team.
