A vote of confidence

Senior Devin Sibley, last season’s Southern Conference Player of the Year, is a preseason College Sports Madness Mid-Major All-America choice.

Just prior to the start of the 2017-18 basketball season, CBSSports.com ranked all 351 Division I teams, from Duke (No. 1) to Alabama A&M (351). The Furman Paladins, who return four starters from last year’s Southern Conference championship team that won 23 games, is ranked No. 93, ahead of such programs as Ohio State, Boston College and Iowa State. The Paladins, who will get a chance to face the preseason No. 1 team when they travel to Durham, N.C., on Nov. 20, open their season against Bob Jones University at home Nov. 10.
