A Solid Freshman Year

Virginia Poe played in all 23 games her freshman year at Furman.

Virginia Poe loved the conversations she had during her freshman year at Furman. Anything from soccer to food to faith, she fondly looked back on her now-finished first year.  She also loved the season the Furman team had last fall as the Paladins won the Southern Conference championship and qualified for the NCAA tournament.  Poe did her part to help the Paladins have a great season, playing defender and midfielder in all 23 games. The Anniston Star wrote a feature story about the Furman player and Jacksonville, Ala., native.
