Lauren Kline ’13 thought her days of significant tennis matches were likely over after she completed her All-Southern Conference career at Furman.  But she recently found herself on the court with actor and comedian Steve Carell in the upcoming movie, “Battle of the Sexes,” which chronicles the famous tennis match between Bobby Riggs and Billie Jean King.

In the film, Kline used her tennis skills to serve as body double for actress Jessica McNamee, who plays the role of Margaret Court in the film.  She said she spent 15-20 days over a six-week period shooting the scenes.  Kline, a Kentucky native who graduated from Furman in 2013 with a degree in business administration, earned All-Southern Conference honors in singles.  USA Today wrote about Kline’s involvement in the movie.
