Teeing It Up with the Guys

Jacqueline Bendrick received a sponsor's exemption into the Canadian tournament.

When the GolfBC Championship begins this week at Gallagher’s Canyon Golf & Country Club in Canada, there will be 155 men and one woman playing in the tournament.  The lone female will be Jacqueline Bendrick, a 20-year-old member of the women’s golf team at Furman who has been granted a sponsor’s exemption into the tournament.  She will be the first woman to play in a Mackenzie Tour event since the PGA TOUR began running what was formerly the Canadian Tour back in 2013.

Bendrick helped the Furman women’s golf team advance to last month’s NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore.  Read more in British Columbia Golf.
