FSO and Oratorio Chorus in concert April 15

The Furman University Symphony Orchestra and Oratorio Chorus will present a concert Friday, April 15, at 8 p.m. in McAlister Auditorium on campus.

The concert, “Bernstein & Borodin,” is a Sound Quality Concert Series event and is part of Furman’s Cultural Life Program. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and $5 for students.

The Sound Quality Concert Series, sponsored by Furman’s Department of Music, includes concerts featuring large ensembles, faculty chamber groups, and solo organ recitals. The Furman Symphony Orchestra (FSO), Furman Singers and Chorales close the academic year with a program featuring Leonard Bernstein’s “Chichester

Psalms,” Tchaikovsky’s “Romeo & Juliet,” and Borodin’s “Polovetsian Dances” from Prince Igor.

Furman’s Dr. Hugh Ferguson Floyd conducts Bernstein’s “Chichester Psalms,” and Dr. Thomas Joiner conducts works by Tchaikovsky and Borodin.

Bryce McClendon, countertenor, Raleigh, N.C. (2015 Furman graduate)
Sandra Sharis, alto, Cartersville, Ga.
Elliott Stewart, bass, Columbia
Drew Whitlow, tenor, Savannah, Ga.
