For Mauldin High School senior Celine Crum, deciding on her EPL community service project was easy. A participant in the Riley Institute’s Emerging Public Leaders program and a student at the Fine Arts Center, Crum set her sights on painting a mural that would capture the imagination of children. “I [want] the mural to serve as a statement that creativity should be fostered during childhood, the most impressionable time of one’s life,” she says. Crum and team of volunteers painted the mural Dec. 5 on an exterior wall of the Mauldin Cultural Center. Read more about her inspiration in the Greenville News.
