nepal-smallThe 7.9-magnitude earthquake that struck Nepal in April has killed more than 7,000 people and left thousands injured and many others missing.  A group of Furman students, led by Samikshya Pandey of Nepal, has started a fundraising drive to help with the relief effort.

Those wishing to support the cause can bring cash or check donations to Susan Bennett in the Chaplains office by Friday, May 8.  Checks may be made out to “Furman University.”

All donations will go to the Society of Ex-Budhanilkantha Students, North America.  Pandey, who is from the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal, is an alum of the Budhanilkantha School and has direct connections with its work.

For more information, contact Samikshya Pandey at samikshya.pandey@furman.edu or Aneesh Borah at aneesh.borah@furman.edu, or visit the Furman website.  Susan Bennett can be reached at 864-294-2133 and susan.bennett@furman.edu.
