Athletic department celebrates its year of success

Football All-American Dakota Dozier and women’s tennis standout Ansley Speaks were named Furman Male and Female Athletes of the Year, respectively, this week at the school’s ESPY style all-sports awards banquet held at Timmons Arena. In addition to presenting a number of other major awards, the university recognized its five Southern Conference championship teams, eight league freshmen of the year selections, seven conference coach of the year honorees, and one league player of the year pick for the 2013-14 school year.
