Solo exhibit for Nikki Pressley ’04

Nikki Pressley, who graduated from Furman in 2004 with a degree in studio art, has a solo exhibit, “Elsewhere, In Another Form,” currently on display at the Charlie James Gallery in the Chinatown district of Los Angeles.

Pressley, a Greenville native who now lives and works in Los Angeles, was recently selected by the editors at California Home + Design as one of the top 10 California artists on the rise.

After graduating from Furman, Pressley received a M.F.A. degree from the California Institute of the Arts. She has had solo exhibitions at Furman and Las Cienegas Projects. She was included in the fourth installment of the emerging artist exhibition at the Studio Museum in Harlem, Fore, and was also featured in the 2010 California Biennial.

Pressley has participated in group exhibitions at the New Museum in New York, California African American Museum, UC Irvine, FOCA, Torrance Art Museum, Coma Art Space in Los Angeles and others. She is also a contributor/Art Director for the Liberator Magazine.
