Duncan elected chancellor of RTS

Dr. Ligon Duncan

Dr. J. Ligon Duncan, III, a 1983 Furman graduate, has been elected chancellor and CEO of Reformed Theological Seminary (RTS) in Jackson, Miss.  Duncan is currently the John E. Richards professor of systematic and historical theology at RTS, and the senior minister of historic First Presbyterian Church (1837), where he has served for the past 17 years.

Duncan graduated from Furman with a degree in history, and did both his M.Div. and M.A. (in Historical Theology) at Covenant Theological Seminary. He earned his Ph.D. in Theology from the University of Edinburgh, New College (Scotland).
