The big news coming out of the soccer world over the weekend was that former Furman soccer star Clint Dempsey was returning to Major League Soccer after a successful stint in Europe. But why would the 30-year-old Dempsey, playing for one of the better clubs in England and still well within his peak as a player, come back to America? Andy Glockner, a columnist with SI.com, suggests it was time for a new challenge.
