Steady rain did little to dampen the spirits of Furman’s Class of 2013. Commencement exercises were scheduled for the Eugene Stone Soccer Stadium but were moved to Timmons Arena due to inclement weather. The university awarded 590 undergraduate and master’s degrees and presented a number of its top academic honors during graduation exercises Saturday, May 4.

El Salvador peace activist Sister Peggy O’Neill delivered the commencement address and received an honorary Doctor of Humanities degree. Mathematics major, Jack Farnsworth of Athens, Ga., was the student speaker.

Congratulations graduates!
