Furman will host Sherman Chiropractic College 11 a.m. Saturday at Roberts Field in a just-scheduled contest.

Sherman’s previously scheduled game against St. Andrews (Greer) was cancelled. With the Paladins idle, coaches from both teams worked quickly early this week to arrange a contest.

“We had scheduled an open week just to give guys a chance to take a breather and heal up,” said Furman Coach John Roberts. “But we have been fortunate this year as there have been no major injuries.  We have a young team that is improving from week to week so the more rugby the better.”

Sherman, a chiropractic college located in Spartanburg, launched its rugby program earlier this fall. The squad competes as a men’s team and is composed of young adults.

The squad is 0-2 on the year, but has been competitive in games.

Furman is coming off a 47-5 win over Davidson College and, counting 7s games, is 12-4 this fall.
