Bringing basketball to the Salvation Army
When Bridgid Morrisey visited the Salvation Army recently with the rest of her teammates from the Furman’s women’s basketball team, she noticed an area inside the building that once served as a basketball court. There were markings for the lanes, but there wasn’t a basketball goal. Thanks to Morrisey, that is no longer the case and the sound of bouncing basketballs is now part of daily life at the Salvation Army. Bart Wright, sports editor at The Greenville News, wrote about Morrisey’s efforts.
