An incoming freshman perseveres

Julia Stathopoulos didn’t let a restrictive lung disease and an extended hospital stay keep her from attending her high school graduation at Providence High in Charlotte, N.C. She said she wanted to be part of things, and high school graduation happens only once. But Stathopoulos has always persevered despite a rare genetic condition, and she will continue her journey when she enrolls at Furman this fall.
