Katherine Kransteuber, program coordinator for Furman’s  Shi Center for Sustainability, was quoted in a Greenville News story about the rise of community gardens in the Upstate area.  The biggest benefit of the gardens, she said, is social — people getting together, going outside and learning to grow their own food. “Food is something we all have to have,” she said.
