Three members of the Furman rugby team have been selected to the Southern Conference All-Star team and will travel to Charleston August 17 to compete against the Deep South All-Star team.
Nick Rossano, Turner Morsches and Eric Dolan will represent the conference on the 25-member squad that includes representatives from 10 conference teams. The all-star game will be held in conjunction with USA-Canada game.
Rossano, a rising sophomore, was the Paladins most valuable forward in 2012-13 and is the squad’s first recipient of a rugby scholarship. Dolan, a New Jersey native, is a rising senior and was last year’s MVP. Morsches, the team captain, rising junior and Indiana native, plays in Furman backline.
“I am very pleased that we will be so well represented on the team,” said Furman Coach John Roberts. “I know that these guys will represent our program and university with honor and great sportsmanship.”
