The Greenville News story is about a decrepit pin-and-truss bridge, officially closed for years, that spans the Norfolk-Southern railroad tracks and continues to serve as the last remaining link between parts of an urban Greenville neighborhood. It’s also the story of how Furman sociology professor Ken Kolb and his students studied a historic neighborhood that gradually became invisible to the city at large.
